Well after a good start to Thursday with a 2.2kg loss bringing my total up to 27.2kg (and ALMOST the halfway point!!) by lunch time I was in agony. A few years back I had trouble with 2 buldging discs in my back, well they're giving me hell again.
I had been babysitting and had to ring my friend in tears to pick her daughter up as I couldn't lift her, and also had to ring my mother in law to come to my rescue. I was a blubbering mess! Friday I went off to the doctor, he confirmed the buldging disc and that it's putting pressure on a nerve which is sending the pain down my leg. Anti inflammatories, pain killers and stretches to do .. the joys!
I spent Friday eating, although I did do some damage, only 8 points over is not too bad considering the mood I was in! Today has been like that too, at only midday I have 11 points left, and I am planning to save 4 .. so lunch is going to be 0point veg soup with maybe a tin of bean mix through it to make it filling, then a 4 or 5 point dinner to try and reduce yesterdays damage!
I still can barely walk (I know i'm whinging, i'm a terrible patient!) and had to get Sam to help me shower and dress this morning ... you know it's love when your man will happily dry off you legs and toes and put your knickers on for you!
Oh, also for the first time since starting WW I am actually ahead of mum in total loss!! by about 400grams, but still, it's the first time i've been ahead in our little competition! It's all in fun, but it certainly does provide good motivation!
We're also due for measurements again, last month saw the total loss as 100.5cm, so when my back is better we will do those again, and hopefully see some good results there too!
How are you all going? I'd love to see some comments from those of you following my blog ... I'm still amazed anyone is actually reading my ramblings!!

mini update
Good morning everyone!
Just a quick update as I am getting myself organised to go out for a belated birthday lunch with my parents, Fiance, best friend and her beautiful 4 1/2month old daughter.
I had a loss last week of 1.8kg (woohoo!!) making up for the previous weeks gain, even if I do attribute it to the change of clothing, it's still hard seeing the numbers go up!
My fiance Sam has started following the program with me and lost 1kg in his first week, despite have a 46, and a 50 point day when he is only meant to be on 29! So now I get twice the work of planning days, as I am planning his out as well, although I am getting him involved and giving him the occassional "points pop quiz" so he will learn for himself.
We've had a busy few days, Saturday night we had a BBQ at Nicoles (my best friend) which was lovely, she catered for my preferences wonderfully, it's always good going out to a friends when you know they understand what choices you like and accommodate them, it certainly took a lot of the stress off! Then yesterday we went to lunch with Sams mum out at Picton Brewery, I picked the best option on the menu, mind you it still came with 1/2kg of creamy mashed potato and a buttery sauce, I left majority of the mash behind and took off as much sauce as I could, I still thoroughly enjoyed it though. From lunch we went to visit Sams godmother who he last saw over 20 years ago at his fathers funeral, and before that it had only been when he was a very young boy. Of course this visit involved lots of italian pastries, and coffee, so I stuck to a couple of pieces of biscotti, very proud of myself for resisting the cream filled cannoli!!
So it continues today, to the local tavern for a belated birthday lunch as I said, as mum and dad were quite sick on my birthday and we missed out going out.
So that's where i'm at, when I get some free time I will continue building up the recipe page, but if you've not had a look at it yet I do have a few on there that I hope you like :)

New Recipe Added
Good afternoone everyone!
Hope you're enjoying a break in the miserable weather and enjoying the sunshine!
I just made a beautiful pumpkin and sweet potato soup and have added the recipe on my personal recipes page (linked at the top of this page)
It's had the tick of approval from Sam, which is always a good start!
We're having it with the WW herb and garlic ciabatta bread for lunch. YUMMO!!

A new photo
Here are two photos from the weekend. Although only head shots I think you can see the difference!
One is of me alone, which I have put next to a pic of me exactly 12months ago, the other with my wonderful Fiance.
I REALLY need to get some proper progress photos (with full body shots) happening!

first weigh in after my gain
Well I had a GREAT result yesterday, 2kg lost!! What a great birthday present!!!
I'm thinking I possibly found those 2kgs again after being surprised to dinner at a fancy restaurant!
I don't care though, I had a WONDERFUL night, and thoroughly enjoyed what I ate, and made better choices than the old me would have, as well as actually stopping when I was full, (considerably less than it used to take to get full too!)
It was a LONG dinner, we arrived just before 7 to Gemelles, a divine Italian restaurant, and didn't leave almost 10!
We started with some bruschetta with tomato, and also some with olive tapenade and a salad of rocket, parmesan, pear and gorgonzola (omg divine!)
Entree then followed, I had seared scallops with mediteranian salsa and Sam had the chilli soft shell crab.
Then for the main, Sam had something with chicken, prawns and a white wine sauce, and I had grilled spatchcock with vegetables and pearl cous cous with olive and capsicum.
By now we were very content, but decided to share a serve of gelato, hazlenut, coconut and lime sorbet .. YUM! (not all mixed together, obviously, that would be weird)
So anyway, I know I went over points, but I still made healthier decisions, and at the end of the day, it was the best night out ever!
So, lets hope the rest of the week stays on track for another good result!

My first gain
Well, I can't say I am surprised.
I had a gain of 0.5kg this week, dropping my total loss down to 21.4kg.
I know how it happened, and feel so much better since getting weigh in over and done with.
I had our 6th anniversary dinner Saturday night, we were planning on the local pub and I was going to have grilled fish with veggies. Well, they were fully booked, so we ended up at the local steak house.
I picked the smallest size steak on the menu (200g) with calamari (all the others had creamy/cheesy sauces). I pulled the batter off the calamari, and ate lots of salad with it, I also asked for no butter on the baked potato. For dessert I picked the waffle (Rather than the decadant sounding chocolate mud cake) and asked for no cream, I did have ice cream with it, but only ate about 1/3 of it, enough to go with the waffle. I ended up being over by 15 points that day.
I enjoyed myself though, and am proud of the fact I made healthier choices, where as 6 months ago I would have had a big steak, all the batter, butter on my potato and the mud cake, probably also full strength soft drink or wine.
I had planned to save 4 points each day after that, which didn't happen, I did save between 2-3 each day though.
So, I'm not too upset, of course no one likes to see the number go up, but looking at the overall picture, I did well.
The other thing that helped ease the weight gain blow is that I did my measurements, and am pleased to report I have lost 100.5cms!
So, there we go, my first gain over and done with, hopefully I won't see too many more of those!

What a week
Sorry for the late post this week, but it's been crazy.
So, I lost my job on Wednesday .. I'm not even that upset as there was so much stress and crap that it is a relief to not have to deal with it. On the other hand, financially this is going to add more stress till I find something else... I think more than anything I am angry.
The positive of being angry not sad, is that I don't binge eat out of anger.
Anyway, enough of that and on to my weigh in.
I lost 1.6kg this week (wha!!! how did that happen???) I was not expecting ANOTHER big loss, the last few weeks I've done really well, I thought for sure it would settle back down to smaller losses. No complaints here though!
Not much has changed food/exercise wise, I'm still eating the same, ticking all my food groups, drinking all my water and getting some exercise (I really do need to bump it up though)
So, that's where I'm at. I promise to come on more when i'm a little less stressed with this work situation.
Hope that those of you following my blog are going well :)
